The ego has landed

So unsurprisingly UKIP have elected the 'old guard', former leader of the party's MEPs and sex scandal dogged Nigel Farage (and his massive ego) as their new leader.

As the leader of its MEPs, he failed to bring them together as an effective team and has appeared to have delivered little other than some impressive speeches and embarrassing cock-up’s. But despite this no one can deny that Nigel is an accomplished public performer. Yet this combined with his dictatorial management style and love of the media lime light, will probably mean that UKIP will end up increasingly looking like not just a one issue but a one man band.

Another question on Nigel’s leadership has to be his pervious dealings (if any) with the BNP. There are many rumours that he has done deals over campaign strategies and even talk of mergers.

Oh and Nigel also says that as leader he will only spend around 5 days a month in parliament. I am assuming then that he will be giving the “gravy train in which members are involved purely for their own personal gain” some of their salary back, for his reduced service. I mean he couldn’t be a hypocrite could he?
