"disloyal, discourteous and wrong" -Tom Watson resigns

I was just reading Iain Dales post, raising the good question of why Tom Watson didn't do the honorable thing and resign his post after signing the letter calling for Bliar's resignation, when I saw on the lunchtime news that he just has.

Read his resignation here. Why he needed the Cheif Whip to tell him his position as a government minister was untenable is a mystery, he should have gone straight away.
